A 7th chord or a “dominant chord” more than likely is going to resolve to Major or Minor chord that will complete a phrase or even the entire song. When playing over chord changes it is important to know the tones that outline each chord, as well as the scale that fits each chord. Here I explain one scale that you can use over a G7 or “dominant” chord as well as the Arpeggio and an exercise that will help you become more familiar with each tone of the Arpeggio. I’ve also included four common chord voicings you can use whenever you come across a G7 chord on any song you might be playing.
